Caramel Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 440 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a sturdy, angular trunk covered in paper-thin, rough, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the very light wood is mahogany-coloured.
The branches trail down across the ground and are covered with handfuls of soft, giant, perforated leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are caramel and beige.
In early spring, it produces several medium-sized, dark grey blossoms with broad, flat petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have an overpowering scent that smells like lemon.
In late summer it forms small, sky blue berries.
The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
