Flower type: Annual (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This colossal flower grows up to 13.3 feet (4.1 meters) tall. Its gray-green stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 6 and are thick and straight, and split into numerous branching stems at the base, and the giant, bronze and orange leaves are light grey on the underside and are sickle shaped with wavy edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.
Each stem splits 3 to 5 times; a single medium-sized flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 52 cm (20.5 inches) wide, with petals that are amber at the sides and dark grey at the center. The flower head is largely flat with 31 widely spaced narrow petals. They are very delicate.
It has a soft scent that smells like bleach, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to bees.
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if cut.
