Crimsonbell

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This small tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 141 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, straight trunk covered in hard, smooth, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the very dense wood is light brown.

The small handful of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with small amounts of smooth, tiny, slender, pointed leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are found in crimson and amber varieties.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of medium-sized, cream blossoms with perforated petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have an overpowering scent that smells like musk.

In late summer it forms giant, crimson, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.

It commonly grows in large patches.
The bark is frequently covered in moss.
It is suitable for making paper
