Crimson Grass
Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in its stem)This big, red grass grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. The finger-like stalks grow in large clumps that are delicate and they spread and grow quickly.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, crimson tuft.
During the late autumn, it produces a modest amount of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with lots of giant grains.
Several parts of the shrub have medicinal properties.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
