Copperbark

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This enormous tree grows up to 112 meters (367.5 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 276 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, slanted trunk covered in silky, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the light wood is silver.

The abundance of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with large amounts of crispy, small, very thick leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are magenta at the bottom and drab yellow with violet splotches at the top.

In early spring, it produces several medium-sized, violet blossoms with pleated petals. They fall easily and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like rotting meat.

In late summer it forms tiny, pink aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.
