Copperwood
Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)This huge tree grows up to 148 meters (485.6 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 81 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has a narrow, angular trunk covered in fine, waxy, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the hard wood is light brown.
The small bunches of branches trail down to the ground, with hundreds of twigs covered with large amounts of small, yellow-green needles. The needles themselves are sturdy.
In late summer it produces giant, yellow, shelled seeds.
The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
