Amberbell

Flower type: Biennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This small flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its hazel and moss green stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 5 and are wispy and straight, and split into many branching stems at the top, and the tiny, lime green leaves are very thin with smooth edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Dozens of small flowers grow in bunches along the stem. The flowers are 1 cm (0.4 inches) wide, with solid amber petals decorated with pastel purple lines and a grey central disk. The flower head is largely flat with dozens of raised narrow petals. They detach easily.

It has a delicate scent that smells like bonfire smoke, and it has very little pollen. It is a self-pollinator.
