Blueberry Tree
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 19 feet (5.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 62 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a wide, straight trunk covered in wrinkled, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the hard wood is yellow-brown.
The branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with small bunches of miniature, fan-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either azure or subtle purple, with green zig-zags.
In early spring, it produces thick bunches of giant, dark brown blossoms with 8 crescent-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like sugar.
In early autumn it produces tiny, fan-like fruit. The fuzzy slate skin is thick and inedible, and the soft blue flesh is salty and syrupy. The olive seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.
The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
