Copperwood

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This massive tree grows up to 92 meters (301.9 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 169 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, crooked trunk covered in fine, silky, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the very dense wood is yellow.

The branches are very short and thick and are covered with very large amounts of leathery, huge, very thick leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in silver, amber and purple varieties.

In early spring, it produces several large, orange blossoms with 7 pointed petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are sturdy and have a powerful scent that smells like fruity.

In late summer it forms small, yellow berries.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is suitable for use as a construction material
