Bloodvine

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 127 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a thick, straight trunk covered in waxy, black bark, and inside, the light wood is yellow-brown.

The small bunches of branches are short stubs and are covered with thick bunches of soft, tiny, needle-like leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are found in blood red and red varieties.

In early spring, it produces dozens of tiny, olive blossoms with fan-like petals with a tube-like floral cup. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like blood.

In late summer it forms small, blood red, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
