Crimson Tree

This big tree grows up to 79 meters (259.2 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 548 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a wide, straight trunk covered in cracked, light gray bark, and inside, the very dense wood is silver.

The small handful of branches are short and thin and are covered with copious amounts of leathery, giant, perforated leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are solid crimson with olive streaks.

In late summer it forms giant, drab yellow, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
