Lilac Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This short leaf succulent grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall. The needle-like stem is green, and is covered in many rigid bold yellow spines. The lumpy leaves are generally lilac. Very large amounts of them grow on stumpy, red branches that trail down towards the ground. The leaves are light, but take little effort to detach.

It is slow growing, taking 22 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are green on the underside and purple on the top, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of 29 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight trumpet. It has an overpowering scent that smells like new carpet.

The leaf succulent's skin is tough, the hazel flesh is waxy, and the sky blue sap is thin.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
