Crimsonvine

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This massive shrub grows up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall and lives for around 11 years. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many very thick, straight stems covered in fine, wrinkled, pine-coloured bark, and the wood inside is pale brown.

The branches are short, rigid and upright with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of tiny, thin, leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are vibrant red at the bottom and slate with lime lines at the top, rigid and sticky.

It produces large amounts of giant, bronze flowers with flame-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like rotten egg. In early winter it forms medium-sizedsilver berries.

Several parts of the moss have medicinal properties.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
