Blue Threadvine

Flower type: Perennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its yellow stem is very thick and straight with a curved tip, and the miniature, brown leaves are dark moss green on the underside and are broad, flat with tattered edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

Lots of small flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of pale blue. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 60 petals. They are very delicate.

It has a weak scent that smells like blood, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by a variety of insects.
