Blood Red Petal

Flower type: Perennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This big flower grows up to 2.8 feet (84 cm) tall. Its orange stems grow in bunches of 5 and are thin with a curved tip, and the huge, blood red leaves are very thick with jagged edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

Two large flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 64 cm (25.2 inches) wide, with petals that are generally purple; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 44 curved petals. They fall easily.

It has the faintest scent that smells like fermented fruit, and it has excessive amounts of pollen, but it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.
