Copperbud
Flower type: Annual (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This average-sized flower grows up to 1.1 feet (33 cm) tall. Its burgundy stem is wispy and splits into several branching stems halfway up, and the small, copper leaves are sickle shaped with jagged edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.
Each stem splits 6 to 11 times; a single small flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 10 cm (3.9 inches) wide, with alternating petals of lime and red, with a grey central disk. The flower head is made up of 26 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight bowl. They are sturdy.
It has an intensely strong scent that smells like mint, and it has lots of pollen, but it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also particularly attractive to insects.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
