Copperwood
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This giant tree grows up to 141 meters (462.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 481 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a wide, slanted trunk covered in smooth, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pale yellow.
The branches trail down to the ground and are covered with small amounts of clammy, small, broad, flat leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are generally beige.
In late summer it forms large, white, winged seeds that float and land far away.
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if cut.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
