Crimson Vine

This modest-sized vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 43 feet (13.1 meters) and growing as high as 41 feet (12.5 meters).

It takes 4 years for the copper stems to mature, by which point they sometimes have a diameter of 2 inches (5 cm) and remain soft and fleshy.

The asymmetrical, waxy leaves reach up to 1.5 feet (46 cm) in length. They are solid crimson with slate lines, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the vine produces lots of tiny crimson flowers.
