Copperwood
Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This short tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives seemingly forever, with many known specimen being tens of thousands of years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a slender, angular trunk covered in thick, smooth, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the flexible wood is gray.
The branches are very short and thin, with dozens of twigs covered with thick bunches of huge, copper needles. The needles themselves are sturdy.
In late summer it produces medium-sized, red, shelled seeds.
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
