Crimson Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This modest-sized tree grows up to 31 meters (101.7 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 153 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a sturdy, wavy trunk covered in paper-thin, cracked, burgundy and brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is black with white speckles.
The branches are very long and thin and are covered with copious amounts of leathery, huge, fan-like leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are solid vibrant red or violet, with beige zig-zags.
In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of small, black blossoms with asymmetrical petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like new books.
In late summer it forms large, lime, shelled seeds.
The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.
It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
