Blueleaf Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This modest-sized tree grows up to 33 meters (108.3 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 437 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, wavy trunk covered in silky, dark green bark, and inside, the very dense wood is light brown.

The small bunches of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with large amounts of clammy, small, very narrow and elongated leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are sky blue on the edges and purple at the center.

In late summer it forms small, washed-out orange, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.

Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
The sap is edible and extremely salty.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
