Burgundy Fir
Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This massive tree grows up to 94 meters (308.4 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 180 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a knobbly, wavy trunk covered in thin, wrinkled, yellow bark, and inside, the very dense wood is burgundy.
The branches are long, thin and wispy, covered with large amounts of large, silver needles. The needles themselves are hardy.
In late summer it produces medium-sized, white aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
