Burgundy Wispy Petal

Flower type: Annual (Stores water in its stem)

This short flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its burgundy stem is wispy and splits into 10 branching stems three quarters of the way up, and the small, yellow-green leaves are brown on the underside and are thin with irregular edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.

Two giant flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with muted green petals on the lower layer and cyan petals decorated with silver dots on the inner layer. The central disk is pink. The flower head is largely flat with 13 widely spaced narrow petals. They are very delicate.

It has a strong scent that smells like warm milk, and it has an average amount of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind, but is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.

It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
