Indigo
Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)This average-sized cactus grows up to 59 feet (18.0 meters) tall. It splits partway up the body to form 3 thin stems. Each stem is pink-red, and is covered in lots of rigid yellow spines. The mushroom-shaped body is indigo or red, and is covered in sharp spines.
It is very slow growing, taking 12 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with petals that are yellow on the edges and orange at the center grow at the top, reappearing after 2 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 56 curved petals. It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like warm cookies.
The cactus's skin is thin, the hazel flesh is sticky, and the green sap is thin and causes vomiting if consumed.
It can flourish even in standing water.
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
