Aquafruit
Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)This short fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 78 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a long and flexible, wavy trunk covered in waxy, light gray bark, and inside, the soft wood is burgundy.
The tangled mess of branches are long and thin and are covered with large amounts of miniature, thick leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are light brown and intense red.
In early spring, it produces clusters of tiny, beige blossoms with sickle shaped petals. They fall easily and have a fairly strong scent that smells like petrol.
In early winter it produces tiny, oblong fruit. The leathery azure skin is tough and inedible, and the very soft sky blue flesh is savoury and very dry. The silver seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.
The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
It comes in 40 varieties.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
