Caramel

Flower type: Perennial (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its caramel and slate stem is very thick and straight, and the miniature, burgundy leaves are sickle shaped with wavy edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

2 to 4 giant flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with solid orange petals decorated with intense purple lines and a aquamarine central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 55 curved petals. They fall easily.

It has a weak scent that smells like old shoes, and it has an average amount of pollen; it can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to butterflies.

It grows well in the sun and full shade.
