Spinevine
Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 19 feet (5.8 meters) tall. The thin stem is pink-red, and is covered in dozens of fine, muted green, hair-like spines. The stocky, gold trunk can grow to as much as 19 feet (5.8 meters) in diameter. Its brown branches trail down to the ground.
The rounded-edged, slender, pointed leaves are solid lime or black, with grey patches. They are sturdy, and do not detach easily.
It is steady-growing, taking 18 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are sky blue in the center, crimson in the middle and green at the edges, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 10 petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like perfume.
The caudiciform's skin is thin, the olive flesh is smooth, and the cream sap is thin and has hallucinogenic properties.
