Clinging Pine
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This small tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 156 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a very thick, slanted trunk covered in waxy, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the very dense wood is brown.
The small bunches of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with sparse amounts of crispy, large, finger-like leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are either orange, or gold with turquoise streaks.
In late summer it forms large, slate, shelled seeds.
The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
It releases hallucinogenic smoke when burned.
