Crimsonvine

This short vine is a quick growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 17 feet (5.2 meters) and growing as high as 82 feet (25.0 meters).

It takes 10 months for the silver stems to mature, by which point they can reach a diameter of 2 cm (0.8 inches) and are rough and woody.

The asymmetrical, smooth leaves reach up to 4 inches (10 cm) in length. They are olive on the edges and faded orange at the center, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the vine produces a handful of average vivid red flowers.
