Mahogany
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This huge tree grows up to 127 meters (416.7 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 185 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in fine, waxy, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pale yellow.
The tangled mess of branches are short stubs and are covered with sparse amounts of clammy, giant, fan-like leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are either caramel or amber, with washed-out orange zig-zags.
In late summer it forms giant, olive seed pods.
The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
A particular bird species likes to nest in it.
It releases hallucinogenic smoke when burned.
