Emerald Grass

Grass type: Perennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This big, emerald grass grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall. The thick stalks grow in small clumps that are flexible.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, hazel tuft.

During the late summer, it produces lots of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with plenty of large grains.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
A particular bird species likes to nest in it.
It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
