Lavender
Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its leaves)This massive flower grows up to 14.3 feet (4.3 meters) tall. Its gentle purple stem is wispy and straight with a curved tip, and the large, yellow-green leaves are V-shaped with tattered edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.
Each stem splits 3 to 6 times; a single medium-sized flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 47 cm (18.5 inches) wide, with grey petals and a cream central disk. The flower head is shaped like a heart made up of handfuls of raised, round-tipped petals. They are very delicate.
It has a faint scent that smells like pepper, and it has excessive amounts of pollen, but it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator.
It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
It can grow in even the most barren lands.
