Burgundy Trumpetvine

Flower type: Perennial (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This colossal flower grows up to 15.8 feet (4.8 meters) tall. Its pink-red stem is very thick, and the giant, burgundy leaves are 4 pointed with irregular edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

A single small flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 80 cm (31.5 inches) wide, with solid washed-out blue petals and an azure central disk. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet made up of handfuls of tightly layered, narrow petals. They fall easily.

It has a mildly strong scent that smells like leather, and it has lots of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
