Silver Blue

Flower type: Biennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This big flower grows up to 4.8 feet (1.5 meters) tall. Its silver stem is very thick and splits into dozens of branching stems at the top, and the miniature, gold leaves are very thin with serrated edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.

A single tiny flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 65 cm (25.6 inches) wide, with petals that are sky blue on the underside and orange on the top. The flower head is largely flat with 55 widely spaced round-tipped petals. They detach easily.

It has an intensely strong scent that smells like cheese, and it has a modest amount of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind and is ignored by most insect species.

It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
