Blackbell Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This average-sized tree grows up to 23 meters (75.5 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 582 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, curved trunk covered in hard, silky, dark green bark, and inside, the very hard wood is light brown.

The abundance of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with handfuls of leathery, large, wispy leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are black on the edges and white at the center.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of medium-sized, red blossoms with 6 pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have the faintest scent that smells like cheap aftershave.

In late summer it forms giant, hazel, shelled seeds.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
