Copperwood
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This average-sized tree grows up to 51 meters (167.3 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 138 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a branched, twisting trunk covered in delicate, knobbly, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the very hard wood is copper-coloured.
The numerous branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with large amounts of soft, small, finger-like leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of bronze that gradient shifts to light grey at the top.
In early spring, it produces dozens of giant, silver blossoms with 8 oval-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have the faintest scent that smells like mint.
In late summer it forms tiny, gold, winged seeds that float and land far away.
The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
