Burgundy Glow

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This average-sized tree grows up to 24 meters (78.7 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 135 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, straight trunk covered in knobbly, burgundy bark, and inside, the hard wood is pale brown-grey.

The sparse amount of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with large amounts of crispy, small, sickle shaped leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are silver with deep blue tips.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, olive seed pods.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is bio-luminescent.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
