Aquamarine Spike Succulent
Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)This small leaf succulent grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. The narrow stem is lime green, and is covered in handfuls of rigid aquamarine spines. The jagged-edged, asymmetrical leaves are green with lime tips. Sparse amounts of them grow from the base like rose petals. The leaves are fairly frail, and detach easily.
It is slow growing, taking 32 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with petals that are either lilac or lime, with a yellow center grow at the top, reappearing after 9 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight heart. It has a delicate scent that smells like something putrid.
The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the dark brown flesh is sticky, and the green sap is thin.
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
