Copperpetal
Flower type: Annual (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This short flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its moss green stem is thick, and the tiny, red leaves are light brown on the underside and are very thin with toothed edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.
A single giant flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 8 cm (3.1 inches) wide, with petals that are either copper or turquoise, with a yellow center. The flower head is shaped like a cup with 40 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They are very delicate.
It has a mildly strong scent that smells like old books, and it has a fair amount of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also particularly attractive to bees.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
