Caramel Ash Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)This small tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 605 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in cracked, brown and grey bark, and inside, the flexible wood is burgundy.
The sparse amount of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with handfuls of rough, small, slender, pointed leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are ashy red on the edges and caramel at the center.
In early spring, it produces dozens of large, crimson blossoms with circular petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have an intensely strong scent that smells like a man.
In late summer it forms large, black aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
It is suitable for making strong rope
It comes in 67 varieties.
Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
