Indigo Grass

Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This average-sized, indigo or green grass grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The very thick stalks grow in sparse patches that are prone to bending and snapping under stress and they are exceptionally hardy.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, ashy green tail.

During the late summer, it produces a fair amount of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with lots of tiny grains.

It is suitable for making paper
