Purplefruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This small fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 59 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, angular trunk covered in hard, wrinkled, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the light wood is white with black speckles.

The excessive amount of branches are short and thin and are covered with small amounts of miniature, asymmetrical leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of lime green that gradient shifts to purple at the top.

In early spring, it produces many tiny, turquoise blossoms with sickle shaped petals. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like soap.

In mid-autumn it produces very large, sickle-shaped fruit. The sticky amber skin is peel-able and inedible, and the very soft orange flesh is sour and very dry. The hazel seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
