Bluebell Fruit Tree
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 18 feet (5.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 29 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a long and flexible, slanted trunk covered in knobbly, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the very hard wood is black with white speckles.
The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with very large amounts of small, wispy leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are light brown at the bottom and blue with gentle blue dots at the top.
In early spring, it produces clusters of large, washed-out green blossoms with oblong petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a faint scent that smells like petrol.
In late autumn it produces , circular fruit. The fuzzy pink skin is thick and edible when boiled; it is salty and sour, and the slightly crunchy peach flesh is sweet and syrupy. The dark yellow seed is very large and sits at the top of the fruit.
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
