Crimson Vine

This modest-sized vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 48 feet (14.6 meters) and growing as high as 629 feet (191.7 meters).

It takes 22 months for the burgundy stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 2 inches (5 cm) and remain soft and fleshy.

The pleated, smooth leaves reach up to 1.6 feet (48 cm) in length. They are found in red, crimson and yellow varieties, and have jagged edges.
