Burgundy Spiral Tree

Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 111 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, rough, burgundy bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is burgundy.

The branches are short stubs, covered with handfuls of large, moss green needles. The needles themselves are sturdy and flexible.

In late summer it produces small, light brown, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
