Goldenleaf Succulent
Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)This short leaf succulent grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The fan-like stem is lime green, and is covered in thousands of flexible gold spines. The slender leaves are pale blue on the edges and grey at the center. Handfuls of them grow on flat, florescent orange branches that trail down across the ground. The leaves are sturdy, and take some effort to detach.
It is slow growing, taking 36 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with cream petals and a yellow center grow at the top, reappearing once every 9 years. The flower head is shaped like a heart made up of 8 raised, round-tipped petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like alcohol.
The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the olive flesh is waxy, and the indigo sap is thin and causes diarrhea if consumed.
