Burgundy Glow

Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This small tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for over 1,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 1172 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, curved trunk covered in hard, knobbly, dark brown bark, and inside, the flexible wood is gray.

The sparse amount of branches are short, thin and wispy, with dozens of twigs covered with copious amounts of tiny, burgundy needles. The needles themselves are delicate.

In late summer it produces small, florescent orange, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
