Copperleaf

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This big tree grows up to 64 meters (210.0 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 157 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, slanted trunk covered in thin, rough, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the flexible wood is yellow-brown.

The small bunches of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with handfuls of soft, huge, slender, pointed leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either olive or hazel, with brown patches.

In late summer it forms tiny, florescent red, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.

It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
