Brownwood Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This colossal tree grows up to 96 meters (315.0 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 67 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a stocky, curved trunk covered in waxy, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the very light wood is light brown.
The branches are very short, thin and wispy and are covered with handfuls of smooth, tiny, broad, flat leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are slate with hazel tips.
In early spring, it produces clusters of small, dark brown blossoms with fan-like petals. They are very delicate and have an intense scent that smells like mint.
In late summer it forms large, hazel berries.
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
