Bronzefern

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This average-sized tree grows up to 17 meters (55.8 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 184 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a stocky, curved trunk covered in hard, cracked, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the flexible wood is dark brown.

The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with small amounts of rough, small, pleated leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid bronze with azure streaks.

In late summer it forms giant, drab yellow, shelled seeds.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
